Impact of the Funding
As a result of the PE & Sports Premium, we have seen positive improvements including:
- Increased participation in extra-curricular opportunities and competitions for pupils with SEND
- Specialist coaches to assist children with SEND
- Improving girls’ access to PE with specialist focused activities for girls
- Increased participation of disadvantaged pupils in after school sports clubs
- Increased engagement of all pupils in regular PE and sport
- Offering a broader experience of sports to all pupils
- Enhanced staff knowledge and confidence in delivering PE lessons
- Successful participation in local sports competitions and events
- Raised profile of PE and sport across the whole school
Swimming and Water Safety
In line with the national curriculum requirements, at the end of Year 6:
- 93% of pupils can swim competently, confidently, and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
- 90% of pupils can use a range of strokes effectively
- 100% of pupils can perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations
